The next Section 6/7 Convention has been announced. It will be held July 10-12, 2009 at the University of Notre Dame which is the site of the first WWME weekend in the United States. The theme of the convention is “Let Us Be Your Servants”. We strongly encourage you to mark your calendars NOW and plan to attend what will sure be an exciting and inspiring weekend.
We have just returned from sunny California refreshed, revitalized and renewed! The International 40th Anniversary WWME Convention was an awe-inspiring experience. There were approximately 1000 couples and 70+ priests and religious present from all over the world. We were reminded through the presentations of our lives before our original weekend and how we were transformed, how we choose to live the WWME lifestyle and the impact it has on our family and friends and how our WWME lifestyle can transform the World.
Both local and national news media published print and pictures of the thousands of signatures on the signed proclamation “Forever Yours” where WWME proclaimed the sanctity of Marriage and Holy Orders as God’s gift to his people, we recommitted to each other and God to live out our Sacrament and WWME proclaimed marriage between two baptized Christians, one male and one female, not only a covenant, but a sacrament.
We were blessed to meet leadership from the World Council as well as couples from all over the world. As we talked to all the couples we found that we really aren’t any different than anyone else and that we all have the same message and goal…to change the world one couple at a time. We were constantly reminded that God truly lives within each of us and we are only a vehicle to do his will.
God has given us all a great gift of love and faith. It is our decision what we choose to do with it. We all have a cross to bear, but what we were reminded of was that God never gives you a cross to bear without giving you the grace to bear it. We believe WWME is a gift from God and we have made the choice to embrace it. Please share the convention information with your community and encourage them to attend.
